Matthew 17:14-21

Posted by | Daily Bible Verse | No Comments

And when they came to the crowd, a man came up to Him and kneeling before Him said, “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is epileptic and he suffers terribly; for often he falls into the fire, and often into the water. And I brought him to your Disciples, and they could not heal him.” And Jesus answered, “O Faithless and perverse generation, how long am I to bear with you? Bring him here to me.” And Jesus rebuked him, and the demon came out of him, and the boy was cured instantly. Then the Disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” He said to them, “Because of your little Faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have Faith as a grain of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move hence to yonder place,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.”

Hebrews 11:1-4

Now Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men old received divine approval. By Faith we understand that the world was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was made out of things that do not appear.

When You Thought I Wasn’t Looking

Posted by | Life Blogs | No Comments

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator, and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you make my favorite cake for me, and I learned that the little things can be special things in life.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew that there is a God I could always talk to, and I learned to trust in Him.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we have to help take care of each other.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it, and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn’t feel good, and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw tears come from your eyes, and I learned sometimes things hurt, but it is OK to cry.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I saw that you cared, and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I learned most of life’s lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn’t looking I looked at you and wanted to say, “Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn’t looking.”

THIS IS FOR ALL THE PEOPLE I KNOW WHO DO SO MUCH FOR OTHERS, BUT THINK NO ONE EVER SEES. LITTLE EYES SEE A LOT!!

Each of us (Parent, Grandparent, Aunt, Uncle, Teacher, Friend) influences the life of a child.

Live simply–Love generously–Care deeply–Speak kindly.
LEAVE THE REST TO GOD!!

Life Is Full Of Good Intentions

Posted by | Life Blogs | No Comments

Life is full of good intentions.
I’ll do “It” tomorrow.
I’m not ready–maybe later.
I don’t have time right now to do “That”.

Maybe it just isn’t on my priority list. You do have a priority list, right? Oh, I see, You’re going to make one tomorrow.

Procrastination-Procrastination-Procrastination!!!!!
This is the real art of putting off ’til tomorrow what you don’t want to do today.

Procrastination by definition:
Put off intentionally or habitually; postpone
Putting off the doing of something that should be done.

My take on Procrastination is this: I don’t really WANT to do this so I will put “It” off until later. We tend to take care of the things we care about and WANT to do. The difficult or less desirable situation gets put off, even though it needs to be taken care of. It’s like when we get into a disagreement with someone and say to yourself–I’ll take care of this tomorrow. That is when the molehill turns into a mountain. Ever happen to you? I know, you’ll let me know tomorrow!!

Don’t put off or “Procrastinate” on things that need to be done, whether they be easy or difficult.

Question of the day: When you know what the Boss, or God, wants you to do, are you going to say, “I’ll do “THAT” later”?

Have a good day.

Can You Afford God?

Posted by | Life Blogs | No Comments

One of my “Pet Peeves” is, I can’t afford it. Most times when we say this or hear it, it has to do with money. Today I want to put it in a life circumstance.
First let’s look at the definition of afford:
1) To manage to bear or to bear the cost of without serious loss or detriment.
2) Yield, Furnish
In other words, are we willing to give up something in order to have something else?

God says in Colossians 3:5:
Put to death what is earthly.
Immorality-Impurity-Passion-Evil-Desire-Covetousness

Then is verse 12, He says to put on:
Compassion-Kindness-Lowliness-Meekness-Patience-Forgiveness

Now here we come with: “I CAN’T AFFORD” this, God, you’ve got to be kidding, right? I can’t make all these changes in my life!!
In other words, I’m saying to God that I’m not willing to “Yield”. I’m not willing to “Bear The Cost Of The Loss” I would incur with all the changes.

The choice we have in life is: Can we “AFFORD” God?

SMILE God loves YOU!!
Have a good day.

Starting A New Day

Posted by | Life Blogs | No Comments

The start to a new day. I think it’s important that we “Stop and Smell the Roses”. That simply means that we need to slow down and take notice of what we have and be thankful. God blesses us abundantly, and I think there are times that we take Him and all He does for granted. We sing a song in Worship services, “Count Your Many Blessings”, that I want to share today.

1) When upon life’s billows, you are tempest tossed–Count Your Many Blessings.
2) When you are discouraged thinking all is lost–Count Your Many Blessings.
3) When you are burdened with a load of care–Count Your Many Blessings.
4) When you look at others with their land and gold–Count Your Many Blessings.
5) When you are amid conflict, whether great or small–Count you Many Blessings.

IT WILL SURPRISE YOU WHAT THE LORD HAS DONE!!!
“STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES”

SMILE God loves YOU!!
Have a good day.

Serving Two Masters

Posted by | Life Blogs | No Comments

Today I want to talk about serving two Masters.

Luke 16:13 says:
No servant can serve two Masters, for he will either hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to one and despise the other. YOU CANNOT SERVE GOD AND MAMMON.
I heard a lot of people say this and usually they are referring to the work place. It simply means one cannot serve God and Satan at the same time.

I want to put another spin on this by saying you cannot serve WORRY and FAITH (Two Masters of Our Life) at the same time.
By definition WORRY means:
Mental distress or agitation resulting from concern, usually, for something impending or anticipated: ANXIETY

By definition FAITH means:
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1

My question is this: If you are constantly worried about what is going to happen, how can you have the assurance of the things hoped for and have a conviction for those things? Simple answer: YOU CANNOT!!!

There is no reason to fret about yesterday, there is nothing that can change what HAS happened. If you have a strong FAITH, there is no reason to WORRY about tomorrow. Take care of today!!
If you have WORRY in your life, you don’t have proper FAITH.
If you have the proper FAITH, you won’t have WORRY in your life.
You CANNOT serve Two Masters at the same time!!

SMILE God loves YOU!!
Have a good day.
