“I PROMISE”
It’s the time the year many start thinking about New Years resolutions. Some of these might be:
Lose weight
Start working out–getting a gym membership
Stop smoking
Stop drinking
Eat better
Get a better job
Find a nicer place to live
Get a better car
Make myself a better person–That’s what I want to talk about here.
I want to look at some of the commands Paul has given to the Church and people in Phillipi
Philippians chapter 2 has many of these.
Verses 1 an 2
Be like minded
Have the same love
Being of one accord
Being of one mind
Verse 3:
Do nothing through selfish ambition
Do nothing through conceit
Esteem others better than himself
Verse 4:
Look out for not only your interests, but others interest as well
Verse 5:
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ
Verse 12:
Be obedient–work out your own salvation with fear and trembling
Verse 14:
Do all things without complaining
Do all things without disputing
Verse 15:
Be blameless and innocent children of God without fault in a crooked and perverse generation
Verse 16:
Hold fast the Word of Life
Chapter 4:
Verse 4:
Rejoice in the Lord–ALWAYS!!
Verse 5:
Be gentle to all men
Verse 6:
BE ANXIOUS FOR NOTHING
Pray–Let your requests be known
Verse 8:
Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy–Meditate of these things.
Take these commands and make them your resolutions. Become that better person!!
